A man who has been recording and posting online his confrontations with California firefighters during calls, and it's something that has become a concern for officials.
“He’s antagonizing people. He’s insulting them. He’s trying to get a rise out of them,” Roberto Padilla of Sacramento's firefighters union told KOVR-TV. “That’s not acceptable behavior.”
In videos posted to a YouTube account, the man can be seen verbally accosting Sacramento area firefighters at emergency scenes. He derides first responders and also asserts that he has a legal right to film the public scenes.
“It’s unfortunate that you have somebody out there who’s looking to incite (firefighters),” Walt White, a Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District board member and former Sacramento fire chief, told KOVR. “The crews conducted themselves professionally, kept their focus on their patients.”
“I would like to know what his motive is,” he added.
Firefighters haven't needed to call police to handle any of the incidents. KOVR tried to contact the man in the videos, but the news outlet was given a false phone number.
